As I never frequented Boystown much, I can't say how many cruisy gay bars there are, but I imagine quite a few. Sidetracks was definitely like that.

There's actually a dive gay bar in Streeterville that a lot of people don't know about out of view. I have been there many times with my gay friends, and the place is funny. There are women in there sometimes, but it's usually only gay men (and usually ones over 30 or 40).. the place is small and you walk in there and it's like you're instantly eye ****ed by half of the crowd.

I went to The Eagle with a friend a few times back in the 80's/90's, it was like that too.

I enjoyed watching the show, but as a woman I was on the outside of it so I'm sure it was more amusing for me than some hapless straight guy.
