Moving to Chicago for grad school at Loyola and found an apartment on 6647 N Newgard Ave. Just wondering how this area is? Seemed pretty good when I looked at the place, of course I know Rogers Park isn't the safest neighborhood out there, but the previous tenant said she always felt safe and loved the place. Thoughts? I know it's definitely better than the other places I looked at, especially the place around Howard haha (big mistake looking there)

I wouldn't worry. That's pretty close to the university and south of Pratt, which is the nicer part of East Rogers Park, IMHO. Though, you should venture north to the No Exit Cafe and some of the cool stuff popping up on Morse.

Yeah I moved in today and it really wasn't bad at all! The street is great and it's literally maybe a 3 min walk to Loyola, I think it'll be fine!

A co-worker/friend lived on that block with her husband and young child. They loved it. I think that part of Rogers Park is quite nice. Gorgeous apartment and tree-lined streets. Enjoy. You have Devon Market right there too for shopping.
