We will be driving to charlotte from Chicago in a uhaul.... I am not a fan of mountains/heights but do see that we have to drive through some. Are there any highways that are worse than others that might be a little rough w a large uhaul?

Thanks!

You should probably ask in a different forum. There are no mountains in Chicago or Illinois.

Why are you asking this in the Chicago forum? Would make more sense to ask in the NC and TN forums or whatever other states you drive through.

you should be alright, they are really not mountains just big hills from my view. but mostly in ky and TN is when you will hit them. I spent time in the west and those are mountains out there just very big hills in the south.

Understood, I just think you would have better luck asking in a state forum where there are mountains/big hills.

What is your planned route? If you want to avoid the Smokey Mountains, from I-40 take I-81 to either I-26 or I-77. I-26 connects to I-85 which connects to Charlotte or I-77 is a straight shot into Charlotte. Check the mileage on both options. I think I-26 will be a shorter trip!
