I'll be there for 4 days and thought I should bring my knee length wool pea coat. Would this be too heavy?
Thanks!

I assume you aren't from a cold weather climate by how you stated this...Should be fine though really. Besides Thursday, which is apparently going to be rainy and 60, the other days will be around 50 or the low 50s for a high, and lower at night of course.

It depends on how much time you spend outside, if you are going from hotel to taxi to an office, then to a restaurant, I wouldn't worry about it. But that's me, I hate babysitting coats all day

LOL! Stop making Chicago sound so dangerous. I was vacationing in Portland and Seattle, and the first thing people asked me about was the violent crime when I said I was from Chicago. A majority of the violent crime happens in areas of a certain demographic.

Rain is in forecast. A true pea coat is not generally needed until temps are much lower.

Not to mention the violent crime really is middle of the pack for most US cities. I think it's just a fact it's the 3rd largest and the #1 and #2 are quite low on crime and Obama is from here that puts Chicago in the limelight more than anyone ever cared pre-Obama when crime was actually MUCH higher.

Anyway, I would think you'd melt in a pea coat. It's suppose to be 60 degrees and then 50's for the days after that. If I'm out walking around in that weather I just put on my lighter northface and usually the zipper is down unless it's night.

The COLD weather won't hit until mid December usually.

All you'll need is a raincoat.
