There are some areas around me that tourists will go to like the Viagra Triangle (Named for the dressed up women and abundance of 40+ year old millionaire bachelors and the hilarious gold digging that goes on), but it's full of locals too and the people watching there from the plaza in the middle can be great.

The tourism doesn't stop either during August or September, it just slows down a little. Remember that Chicago is still one of the most visited cities in the US.

Mar

So get this looking at hotel packages with flights its actually the same for me to come in July

So it looks like I will be coming in july From the 10th to the 13th

Some other places I went too

Veritgo Sky Lounge--It was dead, I got "Free" shots from the bartender which was a joke because it was a swallow at best

Violet hour--meeeh great "couples" place but not a place if you wanna pick up chicks

Public House--great touristy place but it was slow

Bull&Bear--It was ok, lots of average chicks here and douchebags didn't care for this crowd

Overall I just think I hit the wrong venues I went to John Barleycorn on Dec 30th and they were closed WTF I thought this was chicago

ON another note, I was shocked to see how big some of the rats were and that they had the balls to run around at night.

Very strange. When did you go and at what time? In the beginning of the night it can be dead, but I've never seen it dead around or after midnight there. Never. The place has some VERY gorgeous women going to it. Try it again, trust me.

Yeah it's a cocktail lounge and one you go to in a group. I'd never go there to pick up someone but it's a good date spot. Across the street is big star and while it's not a fancy lounge (though the guy who runs it won chef of the year for the US last year), there are some good people who go there and your chances of finding someone is far greater there. There's also a club (Ohm) not far from there too and a few blocks further is another one (Evil Olive)

Surprising, again. When and what time did you go?

Yep, that's about spot on. Typical type of place you'd find in

On the 30th? That's really weird..Surprised they would do that. I guess it's good for the employees, but it's probably good you didn't go there. It's worse than Bull & Bear.

lol what?

Next time you go, do Vertigo but more towards midnight, trust me... Also places like Cuvee, Y Bar, Bevy, Dolphin, etc.

I was at veritgo skylounge at 12:30 with my buddy, there were people there but it was for one birthday party or something, the only reason the bartender was giving away those "swallows" is cause no one was buying anything and I tipped him very well

I was at Public House from 10-11

Mar quick question, the only reason I got into Underground is because one of my buddies knew a guy. How would I get into the place if I don't know anyone cause I sure as hell don't wanna do bottle service

Is y Bar, curvee? and bevvy like that? Dolphin like that?

That's weird and very uncharacteristic of the place. Was it on like a Tuesday or something? LOL. Public House can be packed, though the crowd is more in line with Bull & Bear, but still nice people go there ha ha.

You don't need to know anyone to get into these places - bottle service really depends because it might be in demand. Y Bar, Bevy, Cuvee, Parliament, etc are all places that are more in line with The Underground. Dolphin is more of a club, but yeah. I sent you a PM btw.

Just checked their website - they're open everyday of the week. The only places that have a chance of being closed on a monday would be the big clubs. Management probably gave the staff the days off for their hard work this last year. The OP would have hated JB anyway if he hated Bear & Bull anyway.

Depends on which location he was talking about. The website shows only the River North location to be open on Monday nights, not the LV and LP locations. (My apologies if he specified the RN location. I might have missed that.)

Not true, in my experience. I can think of several smaller bars and restaurants that aren't open on Sundays or Mondays. It's sort of like the "bar weekend."
