Hi-

I'm 33 year old single female and moving to Chicago from Texas in April to go to a small boutique school downtown (located in River North) for a year. I also need to find a part-time job somewhere not too, too far from the school as classes are in the evenings.

I want to live somewhere that is "cool", has a lot to do, is eary to get around from at any time of the night, and other single people my age around. I was thinking $600-$700 for a studio or one bedroom (I am on a budget).

I think I am leaning toward not bringig my car. I also love to jog and bike. I don't have any pets and I don't want a roommate.

What parts of town are best for someone like me? Should I go through CraigsList on an apartment locator. What is a good apartment locating company?

I'll be in town next week to rent a place so any advice is appreciated ASAP.

Thanks!

-Kelly

You could try the chicago reader online. When I lived downtown and in Boystown, I didn't have a car and loved not having a car.
