Hi All!

I need some help!

I am helping look for a venue for an event that CAASE (Chicag Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation--www.caase.org) is putting on this Spring. We need a space that can hold 150 attendees for a movie viewing (The Whistleblower) and an area for appetizers/drinks (wine and beer) to be served. Kathryn Bolkovac is the woman that the movie is based--she brought awareness to a scandal on human trafficking. She will be at this event and will be available for a presentation, book signing and a Q&A. Below is a little more info on her and the what she's done.

The event will be held on May 10th (day before Mother's Day).

Do any of you know of a possible FREE venue that helps with non-profits?? (CTA accessible)

Background:

Kathryn Bolkovac’s story was made into a 2010 movie The Whistleblower, starring Rachel Weisz.

Kathryn Bolkovac, a former Nebraska police officer, joined the UN International Police Task Force in 1999 post-war Bosnia. While working as head of the department of gender affairs in Bosnia, she uncovered a large-scale sexual slavery and human trafficking ring involving various international personnel. When she brought the scandal to the UN's attention, she discovered people from the mission were involved in the trafficking and the issue was being deliberately covered up. Ms. Bolkovac was fired because she knew too much and was reluctant to stop her investigation. Ultimately, Ms. Bolkovac secured evidence of an official admitting to the scandal and brought the issue to the attention of the BBC and the world. Her story was the inspiration for the 2010 thriller "The Whistleblower", which will be screened.

Thanks!

Kristin
