I am looking for the name of the theater that was closed in the late 80's very early 90's. I remember it was connected to a kmart or a kmart type of store. both were demolished several years ago for a Home Depot.

The theater was directly across the street from the defunct Lincoln Village 1-6 on McCormick Boulevard near Devon Ave. I think the theater had 2 or 3 screens and it always played 2nd run movies.

It was the Plaza Theatre, and it had three screens. I worked there for several years, it was my first job when I was 17, back in 1986. It was first-run, not second-run, up until the time it closed and was torn down. I also worked at the original Lincoln Village theatre where the physical therapy place is now.

The theatres in the Lincoln Village area sucked. Good thing they're gone. Prefer going to Evanston or Village Crossing.
