He actually owns that building outright with no partners, which is amazing.

I think the sign sounds pretty bad, but guess I'll have to wait and see.

Like a lot of things Trump does it's almost humorous in its gusto. But, yes, I fear the overall effect will be tacky and Vegas-ish.

But, it's his building.

It's neither stupid, nor cool. It's just Trump.

Most wealthy people (including many who are far wealthier than him) do not slap their name on everything they own, particularly when doing so makes that thing less attractive. It's tacky, period.

Trump is the epitome of the saying "Money can't buy taste." Still, its his building. Hopefully after he passes on, the new owners will have better taste (can't get much worse) and change the sign.

It's just a sign. I would be more worried about the gigantic, street-deadening parking garage and driveway at the base, and what it does to the neighborhood aesthetics.

I know he is not popular, and understand that, but there are few who are wealthier than him. He has a private company so he doesn't have to release information, but his personal net worth is estimated to be between $2-7 billion.

It's a black and red 757 with his name painted in gold.

Thanks but I was sarcastically referring to this;

You seem to care so little about Trump that you started a thread about him.

He paid for it, he can do whatever he wants (within the law and building codes).

Do you feel the same about the United Center?

The believe the City has ordinances regulating signs such as this and if the sign is goint-up without objection by the city ... I'm going to assume it was approved. Like so much Trump does, it's tacky ... IMO. We're not in Vegas or Atlantic City.
