Why not concern yourself with cities in your state like Cincinnati and Cleveland? Both of those place have murder rates as high or higher than Chicago. Chicago doesn't even make the top 10 most dangerous cities in the country. The difference is Chicago's size and prominence. No one cares about places like Cincinnati and Cleveland.
