I'm moving into Chicago 7/1 and just bought a City sticker today. Don't need a neighborhood sticker. The website says it will take 10-14 days to process and mail to me so I might not get it before moving in. Is there anything I need to do? Can I just put my receipt in the window on the dash?

New to Chicago?
You have 30 days from your move-in date to purchase and display a Chicago City Vehicle Sticker.

You have 30 says from the date that you register your vehicle to Chicago. So essentially if you register your vehicle lets say 7/5, you'd have till 8/5 to get a sticker.

How will the parking enforcement know that the vehicle is registered and paid? Will they run the plate number and see I've applied for the sticker?

No, if you were to get a ticket, you have to show proof when you moved. Your updated vehicle registration has the date you changed your adress at the DMV.
When I moved fom the suburbs to the city I waited about 2 weeks to get a sticker after I had my registration changed to the city.

He's new to Chicago, July 15th is the grace period for current city sticker holders with 6/14 posted on the windshield. It's 30 days from the date you register your vehicle. The day I moved into the city and had proof of residency, such as my new voters card etc I went to the DMV switched my car and license, immediately went and bought a sticker. I wanted no part to feed the belly of the beast (Chicago tickets).
