I just started working in roscoe village and absolutely love the area. Unfortunately I'm not in the position to move there. My schedule is a full day from AM to PM with a 2-3 hour break in the middle. Initially I thought I would just stay on premises to get my writing done (a second job I have). Though it's proven to not be as effective of a plan in practice. I'm not familiar with the area at all. I'm down the street from a Starbucks but I'm not really wanting to drop 5$ a day in order to have free use of the premises for work space.

I wish I could rent a room for 50$ a month or something but I'm quite certain that would be looking for a needle in a hay stack. Any suggestions?

I don't live too far though completely Unfeasible to drive home and back during that time. I think I'm close to wicker park too. I'm right on Roscoe ave near western. Ideally I would love to find some place in walking distance due to parking (and in the winter it might be more mandatory than just an ideal).

I'm at a complete loss for ideas. I love the job and the environment is perfect for me aside from the fact that the time I thought I would be able to utilize, is not being used efficiently.

If I were to seek a room for rent (literally just a hole in the wall for quiet work space) how would I go about finding that?

If I were to use a business, how would I go about doing so without having to be obligated to purchase coffee I don't want to drink (not to mention it isn't all that quiet).

I already checked out the library in Lincoln square. Traffic was ridiculous as was the parking. So that idea was a flop. Any thoughts? Ideas ? Suggestions?

I would very much appreciate it!!

Thank you in advance.

There is a library on Melrose and Paulina, why wouldn't you just go there?

Homeless guys looking at porn out in the open and destroying the restrooms would be one reason.

Sounds like something worth writing about.

You don't have to spend $5 a day. How about $2.50 a day? Assuming you work five days a week, four weeks out of a month, $2.50 a day would be $50 -- the monthly rent you're looking to spend.

AirBnB may be a good place to look.

So...you want to use a business, sit in their chairs, occupy their table, enjoy their AC/heater, use their restroom -- but you don't want to pay for it?

A park bench or the library you mentioned may be the best fit if you want to pay nothing.

Yes, you don't need to spend $5, a small coffee at Starbucks is $2.

I would pay if it were quiet. Starbucks is a hit or miss. Often the times I'm there it's fairly busy. I suppose I sound fussy and I'll probably end up buying tea and sticking w/Starbucks but it was worth the inquiry.

You can get a tall tea from Starbucks for less than $2, and you get free refills.
