Schmoozing and being a bro will land a person a job more quickly than "math skills." Your should move into a shared place with some junior finance bros, hang out at their parties and make friends and eventually someone will hook him up. One of my friends got a trading traineeship because he was the BARTENDER at a bar where all the traders hung out. Of course, he was pretty smart but he would have got nowhere just feeding his resume into a bunch of HR systems.

Northwestern University is a glorified community college? All the engineering students at Michigan, Perdue and University of Illinois are worthless bros now? Sheesh.
