I guess if we're all complaining about things we can't change then i'll give it a go!

I ABSOLUTELY HATE having to pump gas on a cold snowy day! I hate having to climb out of my car, maneuver my way over to the actual gas pump, then have to either take off my gloves and freeze my hands or have my gloves smelling like gas for the rest of the winter! Then you have to stand there as the pump sloooooowwwlly pumps gas! And if you go right in the middle of the storm, driving out of the gas station is almost impossible with tons of snow and slush everywhere. If someone could make an indoor gas station for winters i'd be a happy camper.

It's true that it gets worse in states like MN but even in the metro area of Minnesota it's still a lot more "outdoorsy" so there's stuff like XC skiing and skating, hockey, etc. Last year was heinous, though.

Chicago winter weather is pretty bad. There is something about urban + freezing that is doubly miserable.

Personally I find that I can stand the winter less and less as I get older.

There are so many people in Minnesota who just leave their cars running when pumping gas. Do they do that in Chicago? (I hardly ever drive in Chicago)

The weather makes the commute feel so much longer in the winter. When I'm walking to and waiting for the L in the winter, every minute of waiting can be painful. My skin does adjust though. I remember how bitter cold was a couple weeks ago. By the end of the week it was in the 30s and it felt warm.

Mad that the weather report did not tell us that it would be 10 degrees colder and did not mention snow falling that morning. they were off by 10 degrees, and prolly 20 degrees wind chill factor.

You do definitely adapt to the cold. The thing that made it so awful was how early it was. In the middle of January, temps in the 20's aren't as big of a deal.

Yeah it's not really the standing outside. It's the having to get out and get the gas pumping. Taking off my gloves to pull out my CC and enter my zip code. Having to handle the cold gas pump. Having to pry open the gas tank door when it's frozen. It's all of it! i hate it!

Im sure they do! Ive seen it happen in the suburbs when I lived there. And they wonder why their "check engine" light comes on shortly thereafter.

I never really had an issue with it, but then again I love the cold. The only part of gassing up the car in winter that I couldnt stand was when the fuel door would freeze shut if there was freezing rain. I had that happen a few times, and that was the biggest pain in the butt!
