You are indeed correct. When I first looked it up, I neglected to realize there is a different monument in Forest Park. The web site I found the info about the policemens statue was not entirely correct. I will admit that I was wrong. Now I feel bad about riping all over Marquette Park.I was doing much research that day and it just goes to show sometimes one must cross-reference info before trusting it.

WOW! I used to play in those woods as a kid. ALOT. I lived on 72nd and Tallman. We used to call those woods "The Praire". We got chased out of there all the time. We also used to hop train cars to and from Ford City Mall.

I'm 20 something and I knew that Wicker Park used to be a bad neighborhood. One of my best friends used to live there. I don't even recognize Wicker Park anymore. There are people sitting outside in the summer eating.....you would never have thought of doing that before. My mom told me about Lincoln Park being a bad neighborhood before.

Seriously, who doesn't know that about Wicker Park? There were still a few Puerto Rican gangsters living there when I left three years ago. My wife was an ex-art student who was attracted there about fifteen years ago, and our only regret is that she didn't buy property.

Damn you would have made a truckload of money, but hindsight is of course 20/20.

Did you know the City of Chicago still has a working farm within her limits? 111th and Pulaski, the Chicago High School for Agricultural Science now operates the farm (unsure if they still have livestock however).

Here is a link to all the filming locations for the Blues Brothers (makes for a fun day to visit them, or what's left of them) RIP Dixie Mall, Maxwell St, triple rock church...

Silent movies began in Chicago, at the Essanay Studios on Argyle. Trumbull School on the corner of Foster and Ashland, was used as the front for a prison in some of the silent films. So if you went to Trumbull, and you thought school was like prison, then maybe....

Nope. Dayton, Ohio. Made their flights in North Carolina. Chanute tested his gliders on the dunes nearish to Chicago on Lake Michigan. Those gliders inspired the Wright design. Maybe thinking of that?
