Considering getting my license. Just curious about any real estate professionals take on selling real estate in Chicago now and in the future. I'm sure it's a highly competitive market. Just don't necessarily want to be going through the in door if it's so over saturated it's almost impossible to get a leg up. I once worked in an industry where it was almost impossible to convey to the legions of young people entering it just how rotten it was, so definitely value candor.

The problem with trying to read about the real estate market is that naturally all the quoted realtors are always saying how hot it is!

Are you looking to work within a specific area? My friend sells real-estate in Andersonville/Edgewater, and he says that things there are great. From what I understand, a lot of the north side is similar. We talked with our appraiser who did our property, and he says that even though volume in my neighborhood is flat, average selling price is up. So, your mileage may vary.
