Former Andersonville resident here, but sorry to report that circumstances forced me elsewhere so I'm not your neighbor any more.
I'm actually basing this on a map I saw (forget where) that placed Andersonville's eastern edge at Magnolia, one block east of me. The fact that Chicago has these officially designated neighborhoods, and then sub-neighborhoods within those, gets a bit confusing. I suppose "Andersonville" is technically a sub-neighborhood within Edgewater, then, wherever Andersonville begins and ends.

Wherever the border is, I'm clearly a good ten-minute walk from Andersonville's center of gravity.

Well I guess that's the thing with unofficial neighborhood designations; the people who live there get to define it however they want. As for who is the authority on Andersonville, I suppose it's the people who live there; maybe the chamber of commerce or other business association. I don't know. But if you've been down that bit of Clark Street recently, you'll see it's not that much of a stretch to consider "Andersonville" to stretch all the way to Argyle, at least not along the Clark Street corridor. The boutique-storefront ambiance of Clark goes that far south nowadays.

Aww, my old neighborhood, I do miss it so. Oh Granville, the Thai Grill, Metropolis, that ghetto ass video rental place, the GLBT library, brings a tear to the eye. Hope it treats you well.

yeah, I think "technically" I live in "Edgewater Beach" which sounds so much more awesome than just plain "Edgewater."

This says you'll be in Lakewood Balmoral... which are the signs that I do see around there, I think, when I walk to the bank. Or i could be thinking of Berwyn and Lakewood. I'm confusing myself.

Do you know any of the history of the Edgewater Beach Hotel?;-) That area was the most posh area in Chicago for a couple of decades.

Then the city had a great idea: "Let's build an expressway on the friggin' beach and cut the hotel off from the beach that makes it famous!" I guess it had to be done but you had to know the hotel owners where contemplating a murderous rampage when they got that notice.
