Hi,

I am moving to Chicago with my family (wife and kid) and my office is in South Racine Avenue.

Can you please suggest a good neighborhood/ suburb to rent a 2Bed house (1300-1500$ per month), considering traveling, play school for kid , safety and price consideration.

Also, please give some more tips relocation as I have never been to Chicago before.

Thanks a lot !!!

How far south on Racine? That budget is really low for a house.

hi,

The zip code is 60607 for the office block.

Can travel for up to an hour to the office through public transport or car.

if the budget appears to be low- you may pl. suggest a suburb with good apartments which will meet the other considerations of play school, safety etc.

For those that are less with computers, you can just put in a zip code in Google maps and it'll show you the boundaries.

The office is on Racine between Kinzie and Roosevelt.

Well, it's a White neighborhood, essentially UIC college campus. And Racine, south of 17th street is a half White half Mexican neighborhood.

You can just Chicago.Craigslist.org, and select apartments, and select your min and max range for 2 bedroom apartments.

You can use neighborhood keywords such as Pilsen and UIC.

Kindergarten starts at age 5 in the US and elementary school starts at age 6.

Hi,

University Village / Little Italy turns out be the closest to my work place and has a few apartments in my budget range as well.

Please share your feedback considering safety and other amenities while living with the baby there.

I have never been to chicago and know no one there.

Also, a few people working in my office are living in naperville..but that appears to be far off (At least on the map !!)

Your views please. Thanking in advance !!!

Naperville is safe and family friendly, but it IS far and I don't think you'd find anything in your budget.
