If you're at all physically strong you could offer moving services on Craigslist or the new app Dolly. Dolly is a service where someone posts a pic and description of an item(s) they need moved (either from one place to another, actually moving out of an apartment, or a couch that needs to be moved up 3 flights of stairs). I've used this service a couple of times for when I buy furniture and need to bring it home (I don't own a car), it's really quick and straightforward. You could also sign up for Lyft or Uber if you have a clean a car. I'm not sure if those jobs pay right away but it's relatively fast.

the "Gigs" section on CL was a help to me while I was broke and in college. Helped some people move, cleaned a basement, picked someone's car up from Lincoln Towing.
