My family is relocating to Chicago over the summer! I want to know what the atmosphere is like! We want to live in the city! We want to live in an older neighborhood that has a great atmosphere! Any suggestions are GREAAT

I guess that's going to depend a lot on several key factors, such as what is your budget and what is your idea of a "great atmosphere." For some people that means quiet, old-school blue-collar family-oriented neighborhoods like Dunning and Garfield Ridge; for others that means being in the middle of the action such as the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park or Lakeview.

Budget is going to be a major concern. Many family-friendly neighborhoods are very expensive. Though of course this also depends where you are coming from - if you're moving here from one of the coasts you may well be pleasantly surprised by the cost of living in Chicago.
