Is (Mount Greenwood, Chicago) Safe for a Mexican Family? (Brighton: high school, property taxes)

I like just how MT Greenwood is. My wife grew up there and is half Italian and half Irish. I'm Italian/Sicilian and am a cop and get along with the Irish much better then I do Italians and we're moving to mt greenwood very soon. If your not white and don't like mt greenwood because it's a little racist towards non whites, then don't move there, why ***** about it?? Can white people not have just 1 god damn neighborhood for them selfs? There's plenty of Hispanic hoods you can move to.

By looking at Google Maps that area looks kinda rough.... how come it's so popular?
Where I live single family homes runs from 600k to around a million-dollar. I could never afford that. So is Mt. Greenwood much more affordable? And it is not surrounded by a lot of ghetto areas?

Yes it is much more affordable.

I'm not very familiar with the neighborhoods surrounding it except Beverly proper. They are both very, very far south and tend to be nearly suburban in character.

There are exceptions to the rule. Glad you're one of them, but you cannot objectively look at the situation and deny what I said. The South Side of Chicago and South suburbs were once a very nice place when they were majority white. although that's a very safe neighborhood, I wouldn't even consider it being black. I don't wanna deal with the folks out there.

Lots of Irish, police/firemen/cityworkers. Was told was a strong white power at one time. Not sure ifit is still there. They have a farm/magnet farm High school so kidsfrom other parts of the city go there. Unless you have to live inthe city you might as well go to a suburb if your thinking mtgreenwood.
