I would say probably not velvet at that time of year. You could do spring type with sweater and coat. I would say where what you really want to. If you are dying to wear a party dress, then wear it. If you have a new spring dress, than just bundle up (if need be!). Really, you will find a big of everything now.

Thanks, I was beginning to think I was crazy. We also would have been going out at night, but that' s a moot point

And thanks for posting those temps too, reaffirms why I cannot stand southern weather. 86 degrees in March?!? Ugh. I dont miss that crap one bit. The sucky thing is that they have to deal with that in March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and some of October. Sticky, sticky, sticky.
Yup, Florida is also miserable. Nice now, but not in April!

I love how this thread started about average temps and gets into 3 pages long with all sort of random info!

Happy belated anniversary. The area got 3-10 inches of snow on March 21st and the low temp was in the 20's. It is a good feeling to be right is it not?
I know I feel good about being right.

The Cubs will be playing in 40-45 degree weather on opening day
(March 31st) just like I predicted too.

Default Chicago weather on late March and early April

I've just booked a flight today to Chicago on 25th March and come back on 1st of April. I in fact wanna go by buy to Michigan too. I'm curious about the weather of Chicago around that time and if it's possible for me to do so or not. I'm really worrying about that. Plz help. Thanks

It will probably be anywhere between 30-50 for a high. It could snow still as well, but usually we will not get dumped on with snow or VERY cold temps in that time of year.

50/53 is the average high for that time of year so expect the *actual* high temps to range from 30 to 70.

Please. 70? You are dreaming. That does not happen that often in late March/early April, just like 60 at the end of December (today) does not happen that often.

I have an idea, let's do something we rarely do in the Chicago forum: argue about weather!

Really. I actually think that this has been an exact argument before...

"On average, Chicago experiences its first 70-degree day on March 26 (although that occurrence is delayed until April 9 in the immediate vicinity of Lake Michigan)."
