I have found the people of Chicago to be unfailingly helpful.

I find people from both Chicago and NYC extremely friendly, despite what others say... In my experiences, they tend to be outgoing, straightforward, to-the-point, helpful, get it done/efficient, quick-witted, engaging types of people. They tend to be accepting and inclusive, even if it's in a hurried and/or sarcastic manner - these are traits that come across as "nice" to me, but maybe not to others. Other types of personalities can annoy me.

Eh... I'm not sure I would describe those megachurches as the stereotypical white/evangelical conservative ones that you tend to stereotypically think about. I have friends that go to Moody and Harvest (and Willow Brook??? out in the burbs) and they are all either liberal or moderates; definitely not hardcore conservatives. I'm Catholic, so I don't know for sure, but from what I've seen/heard I don't get an overly conservative vibe from those churches.

This. Went to Harvest for many years and I can assure you that there is very little conservatism there. People range from moderate to liberal. It's honestly just a bunch of yuppies and hipsters who attend.
