Rush and Division is pretty lame.

Chicago Social is pretty cool. They run sports leagues and other social events and functions. They run the volleyball out on North Avenue Beach.

There are kickball teams. Softball teams. Those are fun (when it's warmer).

You could take a class. Music at Old Town School. Improv at iO or Second City or somewhere. The Second City has intro classes that are for the non-improviser, so you don't have to be experienced or in-it-to-win-it. Art classes.

You can also just go out and try to find things that you like to do, then make friends with the people who you meet there. Like slam poetry? Go to the Green Mill for a slam and meet people. Like karaoke? Go sing George Michael and chat up some random folks.

Volunteer. Great way to meet new people. chicagocares.org is a good place to start.

There are ways. Heck, some people from this board apparently got together and had burgers and beers last week.

Job one is just to get out there.

Haha. Dragoro we've got to get transitioned to mobile typing. That won't work at all.

Create a myspace profile. I have met more people off there. Most people are pretty friendly on there and you can shoot some e-mails back and forth, then maybe IM them, then call them, then meet in person. Thats the way I usually do it. Its a great place to meet people if you are straight and if you are gay it's even better.
