Create a myspace profile. I have met more people off there. Most people are pretty friendly on there and you can shoot some e-mails back and forth, then maybe IM them, then call them, then meet in person. Thats the way I usually do it.
Its a great place to meet people if you are straight and if you are gay it's even better.
