I live in Milwaukee and am currently contemplating enrolling in classes that would require me to drive to Chicago at least once a week. I would be doing this in the afternoon. It would be a case of leaving Milwaukee at about 5:00 and trying to get to Chicago by 7:00. I know it's feasibly possible, and have pulled it off on the occasional day, but I have also had nightmarish drives that lasted a lot more than three hours.

I would be taking exit 48B, if that helps.

What day would you recommend? Or, would the weekend be better? I'm assuming Friday is probably right out.

I'd pick either Tuesday or Wednesday, unless you can opt for a weekend in which case I'd do it on Sunday.
