Hi everybody! Over the weekend i went to walk around my moms old neighborhood and went to her old apartment at 1430 W Ohio St in Noble Square. That area has really nothing going on at night it seems. I was one of few walking down Grand Ave. Her building was turned into condos and are now going for 288,000 dollars! But back in the day they paid 80 dollars a month for rent! 1430 W Ohio St APT 1R, Chicago, IL 60642 | Zillow

I was great seeing the area again and all the memories i had there as a kid eating at Salernos and visiting my aunts.

I would rather live in lake view if i could afford it. Much more to do and a lot more people.

There's a smattering of stuff to do down Grand but most of the action around there is down Chicago Ave.

But there's probably twice as much to do down Grand as there was five years ago...back then, very little, particularly the farther west you got.

Yeah, if you go a little further north and west, there's more to do

I live around the block from your mothers old place. Its a great area right in the middle of busier neighborhoods. Nice and quiet, free street parking always available, and still walkable to Marianos, the library, some cool restaurants and bars, the blue line, and a few buses. A lot different from Lakeview though. In my opinion thats a very good thing.

I hear you. Lake view has no parking! How are the rents these days in noble square?
