Senior moving to Evanston and have found sublet (would be a first for me) next to train, one stop to downtown. Any locals who can comment on safety? Recommendations? Budget about $800./mo. Need asap. Thanks in advance!

Foster near the *el* is safe. Anything on the east side of Evanston other than the Juneway Jungle on the very south end is relatively safe. There is some theft probably credit card related and some vandalism in the area.

Generally a very safe area. Maybe some petty theft to be cognizant about, but the biggest group of people around there will be Northwestern students.

The Juneway Jungle is technically in Chicago proper. It's part of Rogers Park.
