Prices don't even seem that high given the location.

How times have changed.

A reflection of a city that's on the teet of the wealthy.

Oh wait... I was also in the TIF meeting when this was approved.
Funny how long this stuff takes to reach the general public.

I think this is the Wisdom Village project

It is a high rise luxury building within almost walking distance of all the attractions in River North and the CBD. I'm not surprised. All the areas adjacent to the CBD are being filled up by upper class professionals.

What is the point of the article? That a new luxury high rise in downtown Chicago has high rents?

Are we supposed to be upset because it used to be the projects years ago or something? The vast majority of Cabrini Green's residents have long since departed, and it's in an extremely desirable part of the city. There's nothing shocking about it, TBH.

Exactly. Most people like to pretend that C-G is still there when in fact there's less than 150 total occupied units still in existence there in an area that once had a height of 15,000 residents. All of those are in the form of the rowhomes, and most of them aren't even occupied anymore. There's 2 luxury high rises being constructed closer to Chicago Ave right now (one is about topped out) with a market rate condo building going up at the same time near it and market rate townhomes (not necessarily cheap - I think starting around $500K or $600K) that completed over a year ago in the same area. There's also another market rate apartment building going up right now on Chicago Avenue just south of there and a new field house was constructed around there too.
