Hi, I have a Massachusetts ez-pass. In IL, the toll transponders are called I-pass. Do I have to do anything to convert the ez-pass to i-pass or is the conversion automatic? My transponder is already registered in MA; the IL i-pass registration is not allowing the serial # of the transponder.

If I were to keep using the MA transponder in IL, will I be okay?

-John.

I've used my MA registered Ez-pass many times in Chicago and had no issues.

All I-Pass tollways accept EZ Pass, and I believe vice-versa. I drive to Pittsburgh a couple times a year and the iPass gets accepted all the way.

Yes, Ez-Pass is accepted on all Illinois Toll roads. You will be ok.
