I believe the largest hiring of professional Blacks in Chicago are the CTA, followed by the Chicago Police Department.

The largest hiring of professional blacks is the CTA or CPD? That's not even in the same galaxy as being anywhere close to accurate. Your posts talk about a city, and people, and groups of people, that I have never experienced. I don't judge my understanding of people in Chicago based on observations I make on the CTA. Let's agree to disagree, we clearly have very different experiences in this city.

You don't think $72,xxx is pretty good for someone 1.5 years on the job, only need an AA degree?

And maybe CTA drivers don't start off all that. I remember seeing in a poster in 2007 that their starting salary is $18.56/hour.

I also heard a CTA blog that back in the late 1990s there were only 5 supervisors per CTA garage, and in the early 2010s, there were 20-25! He argued there doesn't need to be that many.

He was probably White. I hope the reason why the CTA supervisor population increased 4x-5x is to give more Black people higher salaries... So, it's a good thing.
