Tryin to sign up for cable and I guess rcn is my carrier but alls I have is their initials so I'm having a hard time contacting them.

really crappy network
... I'd like to think they've improved since 1999, but I had them briefly and recall not actually being able to make phone calls because 'all circuits were busy', and once going upstairs to my neighbors who had SBC, and making phone calls on their phone because it worked just fine. This happened more than once.

I have had RCN for almost two years and it destroys Comcast(which I had for about 4 years total in the past and uncountless years with its predecessor Prime Cable).

What "RCN" stands for is irrelevent. I work in telecom and I don't even know, right off hand. They don't advertise whatever it stands for, so knowing won't help you get in touch with them. They're based in Virginia, but you'll find all of their contact info on their site.

Does not knowing somehow forestall you from picking up the phone and calling them? Or is it they'll only talk to you if you know what RCN stands for or otherwise they'll hang up on you?
