I'm curious what the largest residential buildings in the city are, in terms of number of units. I know One Superior Place has 809 units. Is this the largest residential building in the city? I know the Presidential Towers have 2,346 units, but that's spread out over 4 buildings.

Park Place Tower (655 W. Irving Park), where I used to live, has 901 units. At 56 stories, it's the tallest building (residential or otherwise) in Chicago outside of downtown.

Ah, thank you! I was focused on looking at downtown buildings, I never thought it might be a building so far away from downtown

Isn't the John Hancock the city's largest apartment building?

I think the Trump Tower has it beat nowadays.

Also, the John Hancock is offices up to about the 40th floor or so, IIRC... and only residential above that. So it's more of a hybrid.

I think that has Manhattan built. The Pavilion built in 1964 has 838 units and was given it's own zip code (zip codes first issued in 1963). About 40 buildings in NYC were given their own zip codes, but most are commercial buildings

I was talking about unit count. The John Hancock doesn't have very many units. Same with Trump.
