i'm not sure if i'm going to make it because i think that's a weekend where i have to open at work, but, don't even ask why, if i do go, can we NOT stay at the Northside? maybe breeze in there for a drink to meet then walk somewhere else? seriously, don't even ask why because i will not tell you, but, yeah, can we?

yes, i'm trying to use a huge amount of commas in this post.

I couldn't care less where we go. I'm up for anything. Anyone know a place that would work well either instead in in addition to?

Default my suggestion

California Clipper?

It has nice back lounge area where people can sit and talk. Plus, where else are you going to hear vintage Johny Cash and Hank Williams performed? Its only a mile west of wicker park and you can always go to the continental down the street afterwards.

I prefer not to be in that area after dark if it can be avoided.Especially if I am not driving and even if I am to a point. lol

Not saying they are bad bars, but more than likely most of us will be taking public transit.

I would have no problem with going there to meet you, but I do not think it is wise to have the gals going down there.

HW is great. My daught went there and the prof was fabulous (summer course), definitely the demands were college level. Lots of people did cut, though, since it was an evening class. It was a psych course and a friend of mine was getting her PhD in Psych and when I told her about the requirements for a term paper my daught had, she could not believe how stringent and in depth the term paper requirements were (it was an intro class).

Lots of great services, support, tutoring, etc., for those who need it. I was pleasantly surprised, really. HW had a bad rap for awhile, and I don't have in depth experience, but this one class was great. I like the location & facilities also.

I gotta side with Avengerfire on this one... I'd prefer a safer neighborhood.

Default Clipper, another time

We can do the Clipper in 5 years when it is a better area. I still enjoy going there and am more than happy to meet up with anyone who would like to join me there.

Let's just do something in Wicker Park or Bucktown, near Damen and North, plenty of spots and no major worries regarding safety. Biggest problem is finding parking. Just let me know where you guys decide and I will do my best to make it, though I may have a commitment this Saturday (nothing confirmed yet). Regardless, I welcome getting to know some faces behind differing opinions on this forum, whether this Saturday or a date in the future.

Avengerfire suggested both Beechwood and Goldstar to me... let's do one of those... which is bigger/ will be more likely to have a table for us?

Goldstar is pretty small. On a Saturday night I doubt they'd have a table.
