Lou Malnati's- one of the original is in Lincolnwood (and they too have various locations).
Pizano's- A couple places downtown and at least one I've seen in the suburbs
And IGNOTZ- The only non-chain pizza place where I've been to, but highly recommend, in the Heart of Italy section near 24th and Oakley.

But I look forward to seeing SLICE-ONLY responses, as well.
I second the bold restaurant. Gotta go for olé times sake on my next visit. Been ages. I remember the BEST Minestrone soup there too when I lived in the city. Never had as good in PA.

Most by me tends to be wimpy wimpy crust pizza..... I prefer it not to wimp downward if I pick up a slice. But from one restaurant, I can request it crispy and that works.

Pizza was made to be ordered by the slice just as well as pie. And plain or pepperoni are the only acceptable ones.

The two I picked are really the closest to NY that I've found here.

Also, virtually no one in Chicago has ever had NY pizza (beyond maybe a tourist trap somewhere in Midtown) yet they're all somehow an authority on what's better.

I like Giordano's for an entire stuffed pizza. Or The Art of Pizza (3033 N. Ashland) for stuffed pizza by the slice.

Cafe Luigi in Lincoln Park (Clark Street between Fullerton and Wrightwood) is pretty good for foldable, New York style thin-crust pizza by the slice.

Salerno's on grand and racine, Phil's in Bridgeport, Ignotz does have a killer pizza although they aren't a pizzeria. Falco's in Brighton Park, Fox's in Beverley, Vito and Nicks in Ashburn, Original Home Run Inn by 31st and Kostner, Villa Nova in Stickney near Pershing and Harlem, Obbie's on Archer by Midway.

Last edited by dlong1991; 06-22-2017 at 11:55 PM.. Reason: more pizza

Lucky Vito's in Logan Square is my favorite Chicago style thin crust. I was raised off of it.
