Old Irving Park? I am moving into the neighborhood in about 2 weeks. It seems like a safe and quiet neighborhood and very convenient to public transportation.... what else can you tell me?

There's a reason it's called "Old". It's quiet and nice for families (counting myself in this demographic), with some decent shopping and restaurants but if you're looking for night life you may have to take advantage of said public transportation. More single-family housing stock than other "hipper" neighborhoods.

Right... I figured that.. I just want a nice area that is affordable and easy access to the City.

Lasalle Bank has classic old movies. Great place. Check it out. There's a magazine collectors store over on Cicero just south of Irving and a giant costume store over on Milwaukee.
