I live one block from the lake. I think many would be surprised by the number of people who go jogging and bike-riding there during the winter months. Chicagoans don't really let winter stop them unless it gets very snowy, or in the sub-teens.

Thats an option too. There is a similar hill out here in Warrenville and we tried it last year. It was fun going down, but the walk up was killer. We did it 3 times that day and that was enough for us.
