concerning the shooting last week at Crane high school: The mother of the shooter had 8 children and the victim's mother had 4. I'm going to assume that neither were married and the 12 total kids were fathered by 6 or more men.
8 children living in the projects and no doubt getting more and more welfare for every child.
What a crazy society we live in.

What does this have to do with Chicago? Do they live in a bungalow that you want to tear down or something?

What do you mean "what's this have to do with Chicago"?
But to answer your question....yes, tear down all bungalows.

Skye1974 and I might be in agreement on something for once. Tearing down the bungalows is not the solution. Education is. When the impoverished learn to fish and stop looking for free fish we may be able to prevent these tragedies. Regardless of the socio-economic level of those involved in this shooting, I feel for the mothers who lost their children, one to murder, the other one to jail.

As Skye1974 can attest I am no bleeding heart liberal. I used to rent to a 48 year old great grandmother. Not one of her 5 kids looked alike. I also rented to a guy who had 9 kids by 5 women that he knew of.

There are many good bungalows out there so I assume the other poster may have been sarcastic. Irregardless, something needs to be done to correct an environment that encourages unwed mothers from having children they can't raise properly who are prone to be in situations such as this shooting.

What outrages me is that children are still permitted to disrupt an adult forum.

Leniel,

You may have gone overboard with your character assisination of the mothers of those involved in this tragedy. However, it still is a sad situation. Society as a whole needs to do a better job creating positive environments to prevent tragedies such as this from occurring.

Perhaps a more constructive topic for discussion would be how to prevent such shootings.

It's not society's job to prevent people from knowing the difference between right and wrong. It's not society's fault that a 15 year old kid shoots another kid. Someone has to be blamed and that blame rests squarely on the shoulders of the parent. Recognize I didn't say 'parents' because for some reason, poor black welfare recipients think having children is a right, not a privilege that brings with it responsiblities. One of those responsibilities is not relying on the government to take care of your inability to act like an adult and take some accountability for your actions.

Hm. Wow. I'm won over.

Thanks, lenniel, for your insight.

I now think welfare families are pretty much scum.

I feel enlightened by my new knowledge. I think I'll go yell at a panhandler.
