I'm thinking about purchasing property in some south side or west side neighborhoods( north isn't too expensive and I don't want to leave the city). i need decent amenities, close to public transit, and I don't mind rough neighborhoods, but nothing extreme like englewood. Can you guys lead me into a direction to start my search( also looking for 4bd under 500k)

Also a somewhat diverse neighborhood (like no more than 90 percent of one rac, it's not a priority but it would definitely be nice)

Pilsen, Logan Square, United center, Bronzeville, Oak Park, humboldt park - all of these are great neighborhoods in terms of bars and food (besides United Center). All are close to the city within 22ish minutes by train (besides humboldt park).

Bronzeville is my fav

Logan Square is starting to get to expensive now, 4get Oak Park for investment. Bronzeville is a great opportunity for 2018.
