EMC,

I think Logan is definitely liavable and getting better. The best parts of logan mirror bucktown to the east and the worst parts mirror humboldt to the south and hermosa/cragin to the west.

How far west and north are you going to buy? I implore you to stay east of kimball (3400w)n especially with a family. I am also curious of how much you end up paying as I have seen sigbificant price drops in logan over the past year.

Hi Humboldt1, just saw your reply today. No kids yet, just me and my husband for the next couple years I found a condo on the east side of Palmer Square, and it's a very short walk to the California blue line. I walked the areas of all the places we were considering, and I really felt comfortable with this one.

We're paying in the low 270's for a 1600sf 2br/2ba + sunroom (which will work as an office for my husband). It needs a little updating (nothing major), but for what we were looking for, it was the best option we saw, and it didn't look like all the cookie-cutter condos out there, this one actually had some character!

I'm pretty excited about our new home and the area and being back in Chicago for the summertime. I'm convinced that Chicago in summer is one of the best places on earth!
