Yeah, lets raise taxes, because that's what Chicago and Illinois are known for low taxes with lots of people moving in. More like known for high taxes with lots of people moving out of Illinois and even more now raising taxes again.

Residents here keep voting for the wrong people then they cry when they do things like this. Just like all those who voted for the new governor and now they are crying about all the taxes he is raising lol

Not like there were any better choices on the ballot unfortunately. Fortunately I neither live nor work in the city so I'm out of the Chicago city govt's reach.

by the way you can check your tax bills online now at the cook county treasurer site... my property taxes went up 15%!!! I'm sure next years will be even worse... sigh

A time-honored Illinois tradition. Promise no tax increase, even a tax cut while campaigning. Then, after safely elected, finding out there is a huge deficit you can't cut your way out of.
