Who stole Winter? This is the third Winter I've been back and it's only snowed a handful of times. The last couple weeks have been in the 40's and tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50's. Did I make a wrong turn at Albuquerque?

I found winter! It’s way up north in Siberia, the place where melting permafrost is releasing all that methane, the methane that will pretty much make sure there won’t be any winter left. Anywhere.

Welcome to the new normal.

Technically, winter begins in January, but I hear ya. I'm quite disappointed in this weather. I like my four seasons, even if I curse through one of them.

I know! We never have a winter anymore. I have a friend from Florida flying in this morning for 3 weeks dying to experience winter and he is so upset we have the same weather here as he is leaving in Florida!

Same in Boston, but these conditions are only temporary. We will have snow and cold temps soon, but we may be at the point where we will have more periods of thaw than in decades past.

I am usually a fan of winter, but this year, our very elderly dog is especially wobbly on her legs, so I am actively grateful for every day without biting winds, snow shoveling, or icy steps and sidewalks! I know the warming trend is not good, and we'll deal with it when real winter DOES arrive, but for now, this is a blessed reprieve!
