smegmatite, do you think it was an attempt by one (or a few) to make a name "trendy", "catchy", or "new" like what new York has with SoHo (SOuth of HOuston street)???... Otherwise, I mean, River North is ONLY 3 syllables, so if somebody's life is that hectic and fast paced that you have to drop in down to TWO syllables, then that's a sure sign it's time to take 10 deep breathes and relax! In fact, let's ALL just take some nice deep breathes and have a great day!- Master Jay in Milwaukee

I want to hear more about this!!! Any other news articles out there besides Chicago Trib. I can't view that pay site. Also seems very tall for the Viagra Triangle area which is mostly 2-3 rise buildings. I hope the triangle stays that way cause I like the setup and setback of the larger highrises. Although I know that other condo development highrise went in across the street from B&N. I think that's only like 15 stories.

It's what they call the River North area of Denver, but never heard it for Chicago.

I didn't even know Denver had a River North, and I've spent a pretty good amount of time in the Denver area over the past 20-25 years. (For me there is pretty much downtown Denver, then Boulder/Morrison/Golden, and then a whole bunch of super generic sprawling suburban crap to the North, South, and East.) Do they pronounce Ri-No the same as Reno, Nevada?

I believe it's not like Reno, as their official logo is a rhinoceros.

Christ. Gentrification knows no bounds, does it? I'll look for the new hip SoWy (Southern Wyoming area of Cheyenne and Laramie) to be added to the ever-growing Front Range sprawl beyond Ft. Collins in the next decade or so.

I guess the Five Points area is all but eliminated now, since the RiNo boundary (according to Google Maps, anyway) extends into much of it, and just beyond that is Great Divide and Ophelia? Pushing those poor people out into the burbs, just like big brothers NYC and Chicago?

I actually haven't been there, but just looking at Google Maps, the neighborhood seems like it's mainly railroad tracks, coffee shops and breweries.
