I'm surprised it has taken so long for this Starbucks. But still I see it will be a huge success as tourist will flock to it. The whole Mag mile area is a tourism haven ..... but they do shop and eat in the restaurants. All works in Chicago's favor.

So many cities can't maintain retail in their cores they lost. The building looked awesome as a Crate and Barrel ..... especially at night. I expect no less for it as a Starbucks Roastery concept that is one of a elite limited one in a handful of world cities. Chicago may prove to give to the most success too. They certainly will be paying a high price to just be on the Mag mile.

Love that from renderings ..... rooftop seating will be on both ideas of the building. I'm sure the views will be awesome.

I wish they would bring back the Starbucks on the top floor of Uniqlo; the best views of Michigan Ave. and nobody knew it was even there.

I like Eataly. Got a cappuccino there last weekend before the Bears game. But since I no longer live in Chicago I am a tourist and actually enjoy doing tourist things sometimes. Rode a divvy on the lakefront too.

I don't like coffee but I like Starbucks as a company. They pay their employees well and provide good benefits. I have several friends who have worked there any none had anything negative to say.

Starbucks tastes like burned coffee, and I'm not the only one who thinks this.

do they need 8 floors for a coffee shop?

Default The Mag Mile Starbucks Roastery is open.

So time to reawaken the thread for some FIRST IMPRESSIONS -- Mod cut.

So how about the LOOK, OFFERINGS, IMPRESSIVENESS, COFFEES TRIED AND NEW-FANGLED CONCOCTIONS OFFERED?
tourist are its aim as news stories noted. But I read some concoctions are alcoholic and cost $14. Not basic coffees of course.

Mod cut.

I walked past today and the line was wrapped around the block. I looked inside the windows and it looked cool and I think it's a GREAT addition to Michigan Ave. Retail shops are closing unless you can provide a cool experience. This seems to fit the bill and it opening right before the holidays is brilliant!
