For Chicago Coffee fans.

"Starbucks’ pick of Chicago to house its largest roastery underscores the city’s importance to the coffee giant, which in 1987 opened its first café outside of the Pacific Northwest at 111 W. Jackson St. in the Loop"

It's almost as if Starbucks pays these "journalists" to hype up the store. I first heard about this two years ago, and anyone who goes down Michigan Avenue has seen the renovations going on. Suddenly there are all of these new articles as we approach the opening that is still weeks away...

I myself choose not to patronize Starbucks if there are any independent coffee shops around.

They could build it 50 stories tall and still couldn’t go toe-to-toe with Metropolis on quality.

I thought that opened years ago. They've been talking about it long enough. Absolutely nothing about the idea of a giant Starbucks on the Mag Mile appeals to me, but I realize tourists from Ohio and Korea will be the target demo, not me.

I'm just curious. Not that I'm a fan of Starbucks coffee. But sure tourist will flock to it. After all....... Chicago has become a tourist Mecca in its core. Though opening in November. Will have off peak oust numbers. But Christmas still gains many on N Michigan Ave. I admired the building as a Crate and Barrel. I still expect to as a new Starbucks Concept type building now.

Among a very limited number in the world. Still a nice addition to N Michigan Ave. IMO. more Duncan Donut coffee places by me in the east. Small cities too. Very popular. But the limited Starbucks are too.
