More black eyes for Chicago. How many eyes do we have?

He is, in fact, being fired for the drunken/asleep incident.

Let's see what's done with his pension.

He did. It looks like the mayor was unwilling to let him go gracefully into the night after he lied to her face. My guess is she was waiting for confirmation from the IG report before pulling the trigger.

I knew something was fishy when he was caught asleep behind the wheel at a stop sign with the car running. It's amazing to me that someone of his caliber would get caught doing so without any investigation into possible impairment. The entire squad that found him that night should be fired with him.

Hopefully this does prevent him from collecting even part of his earned pension.

I'm no fan of pensions...they're terrible. But imagine getting a DUI and then losing your 401k. A better penalty is perhaps a demotion one level and getting that pension and not allowing a pension spike in any way.

Yet another reason why defenders of pensions should realize how terrible they are. They're not in your name or SSN and can be taken away, stolen from, underfunded, mismanaged, etc. at any time. I could get 10 DUIs and still have 100% of my fully funded 401k. Pensions are a ponzi scheme plain and simple.

You have no idea what you are even talking about. 401k and pensions are not the same thing.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. I've clearly stated 401k's are better than pensions in every post I've ever put on this board.
With a single DUI Eddie Johnson might be at risk of losing his pension (or receiving a reduced one)
Yet he could get 10 DUIs and never lose a 401k (if he had one) cause it's under his name and SSN and he has 100% control.

401k >>>>>> Pension
