Besides visiting ofcourse, is there a site that may have a quick or info on Chicago neighborhoods and allows you to filter the neighborhood by a slew of things so you can narrow down the ones you're likely to want to live in?

toronto519, I have come to know Chicago pretty intimately over the years. A couple of books I bought were: The Chicago 77 and Chicago, Not For Tourists. I have walked, bicycled, bussed, and L trained in so many areas. For what it's worth, my choices to live would be: Edison Park, Norwood Park, Forest Glen, Dunning, Montclare, North Park, West Ridge. They all touch the border of Chicago with accompanying suburbs, on the north and nortwest sides. It's like a combo of city and suburb at the same time. Some more so than others. They tend to be safer, cleaner, and more family geared.... I live in Milwaukee. WHEN I move down one day, these would be the areas I seek out.
