If four stops are merited there, another one on the UP North Line wouldn't be out of the question, especially since the Brown Line is so overtaxed and will only get worse as the gangbangers (Albany Park) and remaining old-timers (Lincoln Square) give way to more downtown commuters.
Thing is, there are very few trains that actually stop at all those stations, and many that are nominally scheduled to stop at all of them will only stop upon notice to the conductor; so if nobody is getting on or off at a given station, the train will keep moving. I don't know that ridership will substantially increase on the UPN line by adding stops every few blocks in areas already served by the Brown Line. Once you do that you take way one of the major advantages of taking Metra over the CTA in the first place and the service in that area becomes a bit redundant.

Also, since Metra receives no sales tax revenue from the city of Chicago, there's little political pressure to increase service to city residents.

Of these four, Mars is the only one that's a flag stop or that gets skipped on occasion -- and that's only during non-rush (besides the express trains that go from Franklin Park to Western Avenue non-stop). The flag stops are (or were) Hanson Park, Grand/Cicero and the closed Cragin and Hermosa stations.

One more stop on the UPN (not MDN -- that's the line that goes through Mayfair, Forest Glen and Edgebrook) at Belmont or Diversey would fill a void for the people in the Borg Warner development south of where the Brown Line turns east at Roscoe.

To answer the question for original poster:
Instead of buying the monthly pass, i buy the 10 ride pass (because i am usually out of town). Often time it helps me save money because, when the train is packed and crowded and/or if it arrives late, the conductors don't come asking for tickets. SO.....FREE RIDE

Well, I'll be in town this weekend to finalize my deal with the new company and start looking at places. I think I really want to live in this Ravenswood area due to the Metra and the Brown line (which I just figured out has a station close by that is closed). I have a couple of places to look at on Sunday (though I think I know which one I want).

So, on to more important things...what in the world do you do for night life in this area? I've thrown darts in leagues for a few years in Atlanta. So, I saw there is a bar that is listed on the Windy City DArters web page that is close. Anyone ever heard of/been to Big Joe's 2 & 6? And, what in the world does 2&6 mean? Other than that, I have no idea what is close!

What is laid back and fun in this area?

Ricochets on Lincoln (one neighborhood over in Lincoln Square) is a small bar, but apparently has a darts team that plays there regularly.

In general, Lincoln Square is a great area for "laid back and fun" bars. One of the better neighborhoods for that genre of bars, imho. There are some spots in Ravenswood that are pretty relaxed and fun, too.
