I can't believe the government can even do this. Chicago will be a ghost town and bars and restaurants will lose thousands. How many people even have corona in Illinois? This is beginning to feel like an armageddon for a flu like virus.
There goes the rest of the bread.

so i guess if you want restaurant food you cannot sit in the restaurant and eat it, you have to have it delivered or carryout.

by the way, those riding on the Metra and/or CTA are not going to have 6 feet of space between each commuter. Thats going to be a hotbed of germs. if CTA and Metra close down, that will be the end of working downtown.

Chicago is following suit with all of the major cities. NYC, Boston, LA, and SF have the same restrictions on restaurants.

What flu is that even comparable to?

As of Italy's numbers yesterday, the country's fatality rate was over 7%, likely because 1) they generally have an older skewing population and 2) their healthcare system was overwhelmed and doctors needed to decide who to actually save. With no action, the US numbers were following the same trajectory. With the actions that have been implemented by state and local governments throughout the US over the weekend, we will hopefully avoid overwhelming our healthcare system.

The reason why China's fatality rate ended up lower is because they literally shut down the country, which reduced the number of daily cases. We aren't testing at the rate of China or South Korea. You can be asymptomatic for up to two weeks and spreading it.

I don't. It was pretty clear many Americans in general are selfish. This has made it more evident. Although, I have to say I've also been impressed by the number of people I've seen that genuinely care about their community and understand their responsbility in not spreading the virus. I've seen more people posting information on facebook that haven't posted in years purely to share info as a PSA.

Very confused at the relevance of an article from 2005 in a pediatric publication.
