If you didn't see any flashes in your rear-view mirror, you should be in the clear.

Just in case you want to check anyway, you can search for any outstanding parking and red-light tickets here: https://parkingtickets.cityofchicago...rchTickets.jsp

Yeah, they suck. They're practically designed to be run, especially by people who are used to signals with yellow lights of adequate and proper duration.

^^ The problem with this guy's ideas is that he is treating the matter as a criminal or quasi-criminal complaint. I'm not familiar with the legal status of photo-enforced tickets in DC, but here in Illinois they are not quasi-criminal charges as they would be if you were pulled over by an actual police officer; rather, they are civil infractions equivalent to a parking ticket.

By reducing it to a civil infraction, the municipality issuing the ticket can assign liability to the vehicle itself rather than the party committing the actual infraction, and thus the ultimate liability falls on the registered owner of the car no matter who was actually driving it. (That's the bad news. If this dark cloud has a silver lining, it's that this means photo-enforced tickets are not considered moving violations and will not go on your driving record even if you're found liable.) Therefore, this guy's central premise that "the government has to provide evidence that it was actually ME driving" that underpins the rest of his rant does not apply to photo-enforced infractions here in Illinois. They only have to prove by the preponderance of the evidence that it was your car that was in violation.

YES YOU DO NEED TO PAY ALL THE TICKETS...the city of worth Illinois don't play. This has to be the MOST intolerant and despicable system I have ever heard of. I live in an apartment complex and the police actually goes in YOUR parking lot giving honest, hardworking people tickets from THE MOST RIDICULOUS reasons then they don't have the decency to inform you if you have tickets THEY JUST COLLECT IT FROM YOUR PAY CHECK!!

The City of Worth collected over $1,000 dollars from my paycheck due to 2 unpaid tickets which originally were $25 each for no city sticker. They collected this money from my paycheck a in the amount of $350 each time leaving me with no money to pay my rent nor my kids school fees SO PLEASE PAY YOUR TICKETS...disgusted with this city
