Hello, Chicago! Except for a quick shower Saturday afternoon, this was a perfect weekend for bicycling. I wanted to include the 606, now that it's reopened.

Yesterday, I drove down Diversey en route for Wrightwood Park. Maybe it's been a bit since I've driven by. I saw a coffee house with plenty of clientele seated outside. And it reminded me of many years ago and I saw a coffee house by Cabrini Green. And I thought: hmmmm. Something must be going on. This is QUITE different for Cabrini... And I drove up Clybourne, it looked like those row houses have been redesigned a bit, and I saw many, Forgive Me, white people walking in the courtyards, which I never saw before.

And today, I rode my bicycle from my hotel in Niles to Lincoln Square. And it stuck out to me that there were a lot of old Korean shops on Lawrence that were boarded up or closed.... But even in The Square, Huettenbar is still closed! What a bummer.

Well, it was great to see so many people jogging and biking on the trails and the streets on the northwest side. Hopefully, nothing stops that. It feels good to get out, even though I miss all your fests.

Yesterday, 24th and Oakley still, fortunately, have their on-street tables for dining. Go and support your small businesses, Chicago. I love you guys!

Glad you had a good time! Sounds like the city is getting back to normal at least in some ways.

Robert9, good morning. Yes. Lapthrop area looked like it was on the UP, and Albany park looked like it was on the DOWN.

Hard to tell if the closed establishments are completely closed, or if this is temporary due to COVID?

Have a great day!!

Not much Korean stuff left in Albany Park, probably find more Korean establishments in Niles these days.

jsk1983, good day! Tis true... I remember coming down for the first time to Albany Park in about 1998. We would eat on Lawrence Avenue at a restaurant called Seo Hae Kwan.

I remember over the years seeing Korean places popping up due north of that, along the Lincoln Avenue area. And before you know it, it was further northwest in Morton Grove, and in Niles (as you correctly indicated).

It's convenient that it is all in the general northwest area of Chicagoland. Well, convenient in the sense that I have a car. If I needed public transportation, not SO much, then, I'm sure.
